The Postal and Philately Service (a member of PostEurop since 2012) of the Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Systems of the Governorate took part in the 41st General Assembly of PostEurop, with a delegation composed of the Head of Service, Rev. Felice Bruno, and the Service official, Vincenzo Marrese. The meeting took place from October 7 to 9 in Tirana, Albania.
The Assembly opened with addresses from the CEO of Albanian Post (Posta Shqiptare sh.a.) and the Chair of the PostEurop Board of Directors, Elena Fernández Rodríguez.
As customary, the Assembly presented both the economic and postal development results achieved in the previous year, as well as the future planning and objectives that the association has set for 2026.
The second part of the Assembly featured presentations by a group of international speakers on the challenges of Artificial Intelligence, its impact on the postal sector, and possible future perspectives from the standpoint of business strategy, sustainability and innovation.
PostEurop is an association that brings together 53 public postal operators and universal service providers active in 51 countries and territories across Europe. In 2024 alone, member operators collectively handled 70 billion letters and 5 billion parcels. The sector employs over 2 million people, serving 345 million households, 50 million businesses, and managing more than 280,000 delivery points throughout Europe.
