On February 26, the first series of stamps for 2026 will be released. Among them, the issue dedicated to the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church will be officially presented on the same day during an event at the Conference Hall of the Vatican Museums at 4:00 p.m.
Present at the event will be His Excellency Monsignor Emilio Nappa, Secretary General of the Governorate of Vatican City State, and His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church.
The Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church has recently experienced a series of events of great spiritual significance, such as the Jubilee pilgrimage and the anniversaries of the re-establishment of the Metropolitan See of Kyiv and the return of its Father and Head to the Ukrainian capital. The philatelic issue serves as a way to encapsulate all these events in a single, meaningful image: that of the new Cathedral of Kyiv, dedicated to the Resurrection of Christ.
The other issues of February 26 concern the new Pontificate (four values), Easter, the 150th anniversary of the birth of Pope Pius XII, the 600th anniversary of the first apparition of the Virgin at Monte Berico (Vicenza), and the bicentenary of diplomatic relations between the Holy See and the nation of Brazil.
